America’s Sheriff (RET) David Clarke Jr. endorsed Republican candidate Mike Detmer for the U.S. House of Representatives in Michigan’s 8th Congressional District. An outspoken supporter of President Donald J. Trump, Sheriff Clarke, who served as sheriff of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from 2002 to 2017.
He released the following statement in part on the endorsement:
“Mike Detmer will stand with Michiganders and the President on illegal immigration and securing our southern border. Mike Detmer will vote to make the tax cuts that have spurred the economy permanent in the next Congress. He won’t be afraid to push back on GOP members of Congress who do not fully support this President. He’s the kind of candidate that will represent the people of the 8th Congressional District with honor and distinction. He will always put the interests of his constituents FIRST and weave them into the national interests on votes that affect the nation.”
“I confidently endorse Mike Detmer to be your next representative in Congress in the 8th District.”
Sheriff Clarke will be appearing at an event on February 1, 2020, to support the Detmer Campaign.
“What an honor and Privilege it is to have America’s Sheriff David Clarke Jr.’s endorsement,” Mr. Detmer said in a statement in response. “He is a champion of conservatism a defender of law enforcement and a warrior for our fellow patriots across this country.”
Mr. Detmer, a husband and father of two, is a native of Michigan’s 8th Congressional District. Raised in Oakland County, he currently calls Livingston County home. His wife, Kriston, works as a Realtor while Mike supports the family with his work in the automotive industry. They are the parents of two children Zach, 22, and Ainzley,15.
